“evil” people… to hate or love?

For those of us who call ourselves Christians, it is NOT ok to hate people. Period. If you are listening to a spiritual leader who says that it is ok to hate certain people for any reason, I would encourage you to pray for them and stop listening to them, as they are NOT listening to Jesus’s own words. We are to be known in this world by our LOVE. Not just to those who are nice to us, who we like, who love us, anyone can do that. “Sons (and daughters) of the Father,” love, they do not hate.

Matthew 5:38 You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye and tooth for tooth.’39But I tell you not to resist an evil person. If someone slaps you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also; 40if someone wants to sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well; 41and if someone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles.42Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.
43You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor’ and ‘Hate your enemy.’ 44But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Do not even tax collectors do the same? 47And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even Gentiles do the same?

Luke 6: 27But to those of you who will listen, I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, 28bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. 29If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to him the other also. And if someone takes your cloak, do not withhold your tunic as well. 30Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what is yours, do not demand it back. 31Do to others as you would have them do to you.
32If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them. 33If you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do the same. 34And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, expecting to be repaid in full.
35But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them, expecting nothing in return. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for He is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. 36Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.

Romans 12:14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them.

1 John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another, because love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9This is how God’s love was revealed among us: God sent His one and only Son into the world, so that we might live through Him. 10And love consists in this: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as the atoning sacrificed for our sins.11Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God remains in us, and His love is perfected in us.

Let’s live lives of loving God and those around us! I pray that God’s Holy Spirit would minister to your spirit. That you would know His perfect love for you! That if there is hatred in your heart that you would have the courage to repent, no matter how hard it feels, and let go of hatred and seeking vengeance (especially if have been wronged) and trust God who says “Vengeance is mine, I will repay” (Romans12:19) This is what we as children of God do.

This is what God has been teaching me! Let me know if God used this in any way to speak to you!
